Meet the team

Volunteers are the lifeblood of any community organisation, without them the Walhalla Goldfields Railway would not exist and we thank them most sincerely.

Volunteers are ordinary people, individuals just like you, who have made themselves part of our railway and helped create something very special. You don’t have to be a railway fan to join in because it’s all about a sense of belonging, of making an effort and contributing to something worthwhile that adds value to our community.

Our members are diverse in age and skills but share a common bond

of interest and enthusiasm, of camaraderie and friendship, of satisfaction and achievement. New volunteers are welcomed and valued, with the Walhalla Goldfields Railway providing the necessary training and resources in a friendly environment.

Volunteers include maintenance crew, railway guards, train drivers, shop assistants, historians and many other roles. Whatever your skills or your strengths we can find a place for you in our unique and spectacular railway and you can help us preserve an important part of Australia’s heritage.

If you’ve always wanted to be part of our community here in Walhalla why not apply today and join our magnificent team of volunteers.
