Walhalla Goldfields Railway has been offered disused rail from the Bellarine Railway. The Bellarine Railway were fortunate to receive new heavier rail from VicTrack and collected all the old rail once replaced. This rail, most in good condition, will be used to extend the railways back to Erica.
WGR will hire heavy haulage to move the rail to Walhalla. This is expected to cost approx $70k including lifting, moving, clearing the storage site, fencing and transport costs. A donation page has been established for those wanting to assist fund this exercise ‘Rails to Erica’
